Requirements:-
Salted Beef Roast |
Nice
chuck of beef approx. 2 kgs.
Salt
Salt-Peter
(currently banned substance)
Lime.
Preparation
Cut
the beef in 4 pieces. Wash it and let excess water drip.
Add
lots of salt.
Apply
pinch of salt-peter for all the pieces for the redness.
Squeeze
lime juice from 3-4 limes, leave the lime along with meat.
Wrap
the meat in banana leaves, place them in a vessel and keep weight over it.
Weight
should be such it puts pressure on the meat.
After
24 hours pickle the meat with a knife, turn the pieces of meat and again wrap
it and let it mature with weight over it.
After
36 hours boil the meat in it juices. Can also pressure cook it.
Let
it cool. Cut into neat slices.
Garnish
with onion rings or potato chips or slices.
Can
be served either as it is or can be tossed on a frying pan.
